Dan Duffy's 1956 ChevRolet Scores Big Wins

Dan and his beautiful 1956 GT Sport Tri-5 made the long drive from Georgia out to California for the Goodguys West Coast Nationals in Pleasanton. They collected one of the ten Builder Choice awards at the show. Next they made the trip to Indianapolis for NHRA's US Nationals, where the car collected another win. Ken & Marg Klapstein's 1941 Plymouth

Check out Ken and Marg Klapstein's 1941 Plymouth Custom Coupe. The car was built by Rod Froberg at Caribou Street Rods in Williams Lake BC Canada. It sports an Art Morrison Sport IFS rectangular tube chassis, LS3 for power and Wilwood Brakes front & rear. The custom leather interior was done by Trade Wind Upholstery in Quesnel, BC. The car features an Art Morrison Chassis, and won the prestigious Great Eight Award as one of the eight finalists for the Ridler Award at The Detroit Autorama. 1949 Bentley Mark 6 by Deez Rodz And Ridez - Posted on January 14th, 2014

Ontario Canada's Joe Tassone sent in the following note about this amazing 1949 Bentley: "We started with grafting in the Art Morrison front end and also the rear end, and kept the original center section of the chassis with some modification. Once the car was complete it contained a 572 BBC, 400 trans with a gear vendor overdrive, 22" wheels with 6 piston calipers supplied by you guys, custom interior, exhaust etc. Thanks again for all your help." Congrats on completing a very cool and unique project Joe!

Gary hails from Carmichael California, and he kindly sent in some pictures of his 1950 Ford Woody Wagon. The car sports an Art Morrison Profile Chassis with LS Chevrolet power and a 6L80E transmission. The chassis uses the Morrison Sport IFS front suspension and triangulated 4-Bar rear suspension.

Hunter Mahan's 1972 GMC Pickup - "Black Gold" - Posted on October 14th, 2013

This awesome '72 GMC belongs to PGA golf pro Hunter Mahan, who had DuSold Designs in Texas build this incredible machine. It features a custom Art Morrison four-bar setup to which a 9-inch Ford rear was hung. Up front, the original GM IFS was rebuilt, and a pair of dropped spindles and muscular Wilwood disc brakes added.

1969 "Tenacity" Camaro - Built By East Bay Muscle Cars - Posted on June 12th, 2013

The guys over at East Bay Muscle Car sent us a few pictures of this 69 Camaro, which features an Art Morrison Enterprises chassis, LS3 power with over 650 Horsepower, T-56 Magnum 6 speed, and a ton of body mods. The car won the Lingenfelter design award from Oprima last year, and recently competed at the Pleasanton Autocross.

Gene Quanz's 1960 Ford Pickup Posted on April 23rd, 2013

Gene Quanz & Stephen Johnson (see below) have two iconic trucks under construction in Gene's home shop. His 1960 Ford features a 430 cubic Inch All Aluminum Fontana engine built by Pro Power, and a hand fabricated chassis using "custom bent" 2X4 and 2X6 tubing bent to his specifications. The body has a number of modifications, including a sectioned hood, Chopped Top, raised box sides, and more.

Stephen Johnson's 1955 Chevy Stepside Posted on April 23rd, 2013

Stephen's 2nd Series '55 step side is setup much like Gene Quanz's Ford truck using "custom bent" 2X4 and 2X6 tubing bent to his specifications. with triangulated 4-bar suspension and coil shocks and a narrowed Ford 9" rear end with Wilwood disc brakes. The engine is a 468 big block. Body and Paint were done by Jeff Kudsk of JCK Restorations in Ferndale WA.

Fred Hardee's 1955 Chevrolet Posted on April 17th, 2013

Fred's amazing Tri-5 hails from South Dakota, There are a lot of subtle modifications on the car: the body was shaved and de-badged, and the ridge removed from the hood. The car sports an LS3 and Tremec Transmission. Randy Gribble at Lake City Rod & Custom did the fabrication, Paint and body was done at Lauren's HotRods. The interior was stitched up by Paul Atkins Interior.

Chad Spangler's 1968 Pontiac Posted on March 12th, 2013

At the World of Wheels show in Chicago, Chad Spangler's 1968 Pontiac won best in class, top twenty, and made the select six field for the legend cup award. The car features an Art Morrison A-body chassis and was built by Tim O'Connell and crew at O'Connell Specialties in Plainfield Illinois.

Ryan Burkett's 1967 MaxG Mustang Fastback Posted on March 4th, 2013

Ryan started out with a very nice black 1967 Mustang Fastback, but he wanted to build his own ultimate street car. He contacted Art Morrison to supply the MaxG chassis to get him the stance and handling he was looking for. The car has a Ford FE big block for power, manual trans, and minimal interior - no radio, and no heater, done in true retro road race style. Randal Bogoje is helping out on the project.

Don McConlogue's 1957 Chevrolet Posted on January 21st, 2013

Don had his Art Morrison chassis powder coated, then did the final assembly of this classic 150 model 150 in his garage. The car sports a ZZ383 for power, coupled to a Tremec 5 speed and Flowmaster exhaust system. The body work was done by Ace Auto Body of Kelseyville CA, with Paint by B & J Body Shop in Rancho Cordova. In a recent email Don reports "The car is fun to drive and I think can out-perform my Corvette thanks to the Art Morrison chassis."

Jim McDaniel's 1955 Chevrolet BelAir - The 55GTR Posted on January 9th, 2013

Since completing the car in 2009, Jim's '55, named 55GTR, has won the International Show Car Association Class Championship for 2010 and 2011, been named a PPG Dream Car, been featured in Super Chevy Magazine, and contended for the 2011 Goodguys Street Machine of the Year award. (SMOY)

Jim's goal of being selected into the top five SMOY cars was not reached, but the Art Morrison GT Sport Chassis gave him the platform to record the third fastest autocross time of the SMOY contenders. "You can't make a 1955 Chevrolet that fast without the best chassis on the market." Jim commented. "Thank you to the guys at Art Morrison Enterprises……Great Work!"

UPDATE: Tarek Alsalhy's 1969 Mustang - Saudi Arabia Posted on January 7th, 2013

In the last couple of months Saudi Arabia's Tarek Alsalhy has been hard at work on his 1969 Mustang. He recently sent in some progress pictures showing the chassis has been assembled, the Ford power plant has been built, and with a very capable assistant the work on placing the engine between the frame rails has begun.

Tech Tips - Powder Coating Your Art Morrison Chassis Posted on December 11th, 2012

Powder coating is typically applied electrostatically and is cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a skin. Instructions on the Do's and Don'ts to powder coat your Art Morrison chassis are available by clicking on the link below. Mike Anderson's 1964 Corvette Posted on December 3rd, 2012

Car owner Mike Anderson put an LS1 & 4 speed into his Vette, then decided it was time for a complete chassis upgrade and pro touring setup. He called on long time friend Dennis Steppe, who owns Rebel Racing & Kustom Paint in Rabun Gap, Georgia to do the work. With Scott's help in our sales department a bumper-to-bumper chassis was sent out. The build photo album has over 160 pictures!

Our new GT Sport 1947-1953 Chevy Truck Chassis is now in production. It features our Sport IFS front and all new performance 4-bar rear with Johnny joints and rear mounted panhard bar Tubular, adjustable front anti-way bar and adjustable rear anti-sway bar. Adjustable front and rear Strange Engineering coil overs. Brake pedal assembly allows for a power booster (if desired) as well as a clutch pedal for those who want a manual transmission. Ron had Frank Berard owner of F&R Body Shop in Johnsonville, NY build this 1957 Chevrolet Tri-5. He send in a bunch of pictures, so this first installment highlights the installation and fabrication involved to mate an Art Morrison chassis up to the body. Labeled "The Punisher" by Lindon Collision owner Eric Read and his brother, the duo picked this Mopar up over three years ago. What better location for a photo shoot than at Las Vegas Motor Speedway! The 440 has twin turbo power, via an STS rear mounted setup.

Dave Johnson's 1956 Chevrolet Posted on June 25th, 2012

Dave and his son did most of the work on their 56, the Art Morrison Chassis was purchased with the help of Vanderbeck Race Cars. The 56 recently appeared at the Pismo Beach Car Show. The car sports a LS6 for power, coupled to a Tremec TKO600 5-speed, and has Wilwood brakes.

Scott Perry's 1938 Plymouth Posted on May 21st, 2012

Scott's 1938 Plymouth is the Coupe Deluxe Model, and it was a five and a half year labor of love to complete. His lovely wife Bonnie cheered him on, and helped out with many details. Scott sent in a lot of pictures, so we'll start off at the beginning with the process of disassembly and mounting the body and motor to his Art Morrison chassis. The engine is a 360 Mopar, punched out to 408 cubic inches.

1958 Chevrolet Impala Wagon Built by Pryamid Auto

Although Chevrolet never built a 58 Impala 2 Door Wagon, maybe they should have…Our friends at Pyramid Auto in Bellingham, WA were contacted to do just that. Car owner Kurt Lunde hired John Barbaro the owner of Pyramid Auto to do the extensive body modifications and then have the skilled staff here at Art Morrison Enterprises build the one off chassis. Notice how close the chassis fits the unique body. This car was featured on the cover of Super Rod magazine several years ago, and is now back on track, complete with the new chassis. Power will come from a 409.

John bought this 69 Roadrunner in September 2010 as a complete driver. In just 10 months with help from family and friends he installed a Morrison 4-link rear clip, and a 605 cubic motor. To cure the all too common problem of "spongy" brakes. Art Morrison has developed a special through-frame brake line fitting that eliminates any fluid air pockets that can occur with other designs. CNC machined from stainless steel, they can be used in any frame rail that is 2" in width. Each end is -3AN sized fitting with one end male and the other female.AME full pressure fittings can be retrofitted to most any hydraulic brake system and are available individually!

Now available from Art Morrison Enterprises is a combination Wilwood Master Cylinder and Proportioning valve assembly. This package locates the proportioning valve in a very convenient and easy to adjust spot while the CNC bent stainless lines ensure proper flow from the master cylinder to prop valve and then on to the brakes. A new service that Art Morrison Ent. provides is the creation of custom bolt-on chassis for individual projects. We reverse engineer the OEM chassis and create a new frame featuring modern suspension and braking technology. This was the construction of Scott's 1950 Buick woodie wagon chassis.
